Walden's unique ability to blend its rich history and long lasting traditions with contemporary thinking enables its campers to develop self esteem, confidence and leadership skills.

Honor System and a successful system of self government have been in operation at Walden since 1916. Inspired by the enthusiastic leadership of the older girls, and mentored by the support of the directors and staff, the younger girls learn the basics of group living, and the values of honesty, responsibility, respect, and consideration for others.
