Working at Walden
General Requirements

Thank you for your interest in Camp Walden. Your inquiry is very important to us and we look forward to the screening and hiring process with you.
*NOTE Available openings are dependent on the number of returning staff members.

Below are the recommended requirements for each position. We may be able to help you with some of these requirements by sending you to clinics to gain certifications or to other pre-camp training programs.

NECESSARY SKILLS

Must have life guarding, knowledge of skiing on two and slalom. Must know how to drive a motor boat.

Must have life guarding, knowledge of different strokes, boat and paddle names, and white-water knowledge. Also knowledge of Kayaking recommended.

Must have life guarding, knowledge on rigging and sailing Laser Pico and Sunfish

Ceramics instructors must have knowledge on wheels and have crafting, glazing, and kiln skills. Painting and Drawing instructors should have formal art training. Please submit photos of your work

Must have knowledge to teach at least half of the listed sports: Archery, Basketball, Field hockey, Lacrosse, Newcomb, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Golf, Climbing Wall, Zip Line. Must know rules, drills, game strategy, and equipment.

Must have knowledge of balance beam, floor exercises, mats, uneven parallel bars, horse… must be able to teach ALL levels.

Must be able to teach ALL levels, know game strategy, feeding, strokes, positioning, and scoring.

Must be able to teach English style, knowledge of grooming, stable management. Jumping knowledge recommended. Knowledge of taking care of horses, feeding, and barn duties.
