Facilities

By virtue of its seclude location, Camp Walden is a naturally protected and secure facility. Over the years we have added numerous features to further enhance the safety and well being of our campers and personnel. We own over a mile of lakefront in a protected, semi private cove on Walden Pond and more than 150 acres of pine forest and grassy fields.

All our main buildings, camper and staff sleeping quarters and central activity points are located in the middle of this acreage, affording us an exclusive, comfortable and easily supervised area.

The campers live in well built, naturally ventilated, roomy wooden bunks, each with its own bathroom and washrooms. Only the two oldest age groups have electricity, however all bunks have lights in the bathrooms. There is a centrally located building with 12 hot water showers. Counselors are assigned to live with and share in the bunk responsibilities with the campers. Camper counselor ratio for campers ages 9-13 is 1:4.

The closeness among campers of different age groups, counselors and staff are all ingredients in Walden's special mix of warmth and spirit. Our full-season program, ideal size, strong sense of tradition, songs and fun make it easy for each camper to mix with and know the entire camp community.

Your daughter, like many Waldenites before her, will form friendships at camp that will last a lifetime.
